Guild/Alliance Calendar
Simple idea, would work nicely.
Each Guild and possibly the Alliance too (administered by the Alliance leader and possibly leaders of each Guild apart of the alliance?) could have there own separate calendar so Leaders and Officers (permissions set by Leader?) could set dates, times, locations and names for events.
Be good to have some real way to schedule events for guilds/alliances and using your Guild Announcement area for something else, for guilds/alliances who'd rather have an in-game solution for event organization than using a forum calendar or something.
What do you guys think?

I've never seen a need for anything like this. If you want to set a date/time for something, just use the Announcements section. That's what it's their for.

Lol have you ever been in a Guild? I've been in tons and every single one has made a website just for a calender.
As for the topic, /signed. Great idea, I'd love to see upcoming dates for what my guild has planned.

Maybe because every guild I've ever been in has used vent, we just tell each other "Ok, GvG tomorrow at 6 EST, k? Bai!" Or, in the announcement, back when I used to FF, the announcement would say "FF from 7-9 every day, try to be there as much as possible" or something. I've never seen a guild with a huge amount of events going on that it doesn't fit in a 500 character space or whatever it is.
Edit: Just because you're a guild hopper doesn't mean you know a huge amount about guilds in general.

Meh, it's not the best idea I've seen, but putting things in that will help a guild keep track of events is nice.

I guess you're guild does 1 thing everyday. The guilds I join do all types of PvP and PvE, while having some days for themselves. We all planned practically a whole week or month with a calender on a website while also using the announcements for other... announcements.
Regardless, why not /sign? It's a good idea, and if you don't like it, don't use it. It won't ruin your gameplay at all unless you really have a problem having the option to use a calender.
And to accuss me of guild hopping while you don't know me... tsk tsk
You do know that "a lot of guilds" could have different meanings. I've played this game since it was released, and a lot of those people I first played with quit playing it, or people become inactive. I don't join a guild and leave the next day like "guild hoppers" do.

I'd rather be good at one thing than mediocre at a lot of things.

Yes, I "accuss" you of guild hopping when you say you have been in "tons of guilds". So, either, you are a guild hopper, or you are extremely unwanted and get kicked within days of getting in a guild.
I've been playing for 28 months, and I've only been in 6 total guilds. I would have a hard time believing you have been in "tons of guilds" where everyone left or became inactive, forcing you, the lone hero, to press on in the face of adversity.

Can someone make 1 thread in Guild Wars Guru without someone trying to flame or degrade someone?
Thankyou.
